Payment is made on arrival & SHOULD BE MADE VIA CREDIT CARD. Debit cards are only accepted if additional insurance is taken out. Credit Card must be in the name of the main driver (cannot be a pre-paid credit card or an AMEX or DINERS card) and must have sufficient funds available.
Price is determined by start date and is fixed as at the time of booking. Price will neither be increased nor decreased should any change in rate occur. Minimum hire charge is 3 days. Daily rate for hires of less than one week is 1/5th of weekly charge.
Cars collected between 22:00 and 23:00 hrs (or later only if flight is delayed) will incur an additional charge of €35 Euros, payable locally. Technically Niza Cars' Malaga Airport Depot closes at 23:00 hrs.
Although all NIZA’S cars are recent models, we strongly recommend that you check your vehicle before leaving the Depot. If you are not completely satisfied, this is the time to say so and, if necessary, ask for another car. NB. Cars are booked by Group/Type. Make and model quoted on front sheet is for guidance only & may be substituted for a similar (or up-graded) vehicle.
Niza Cars operate a “Full to Full” Petrol Deposit system for our clients so you only pay for the fuel you use. This must be left either in cash (in Euros) or as a debit to a credit card (refundable as long as car is returned with a full tank). No refund will be made for cars returned with less than a full tank & a refuelling charge of €20 Euros will be applicable under these circumstances. For rentals of up to 7 days, payment will be pre-authorised only on a credit card. For rentals longer than 7 days the fuel deposit will be charged (& then refunded, providing car is returned with a full tank).If you put the incorrect fuel into the car ie; petrol into a diesel car (or vice versa) then you will be liable for any associated costs (which may be substantial) unless you have taken out the optional additional insurance. If for any reason cars cannot be supplied with a full tank (such as a technical issue with the fuel pump), cars will be supplied with a quarter or half a tank & should be returned the same.
Our rates include compulsory insurance, CDW, full theft of vehicle cover(except where the keys have been left in the vehicle), public liability cover and road assistance (if there is a mechanical problem with the car only). The basic insurance provided does NOT cover damage to or loss of tyres /rims /wheels/locks/ radio/cd/, damage to the windscreen, windows, lights, bodywork, vehicle interior (loss of components of which are never covered see below)* and underneath of the car, improper use of the clutch or gearbox, incorrect refuelling, road assistance (unless this is required due to mechanical failure) and fine management fees. Clients wishing to take out optional additional insurance to cover these things can do so on arrival at Niza Cars at the rates listed below:-
Groups B, C, D, E, F1, F4, H, L2 = €15 Euros per day (min. €45 Euros, max. €225 Euros)
Groups E1, F2, F3, G, G3, K1, L3 = €18 Euros per day (min. €54 Euros, max. €270 Euros)
Groups G2 = €19 Euros per day (min. €57 Euros, max. €285 Euros)
These optional additional insurance charges are to bepaid for on arrival by debit to a credit or debit card.
NB. If this cover is NOT taken, then Niza Cars will charge the following excess amounts on a credit card (refundable just as long as no damage to uninsured parts of the vehicle has occurred).
NB. This may result in a slight loss of funds due to exchange rates.
Groups B, C = €1,000 Euros
Groups D, E, F1, H = €1,200 Euros
Groups E1, E2, F2, F3, F4, G, G2, G3, L3 = €1,500 Euros
Group K = €1,800 Euros
For rentals of less than 7 days, the deposit sums above will be pre-authorised only on a credit card. For rentals of 8 or more days, the amount will be charged to the credit card and then refunded (as long as car is returned without damage to the uninsured parts) – NB. This may result in your credit card provider applying transaction charges and loss of funds due to changes in exchange rates. If the credit card does not have a PIN code then the deposit cannot be pre-authorised.
NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE:
Damage caused to third parties or to the vehicle due to negligence
Theft of the vehicle (when the keys are left inside).
Damage caused by not respecting traffic rules.
*Loss of any component of the vehicle interior
Loss of/damage to child & booster seats, car keys, puncture repair kits, emergency vests & aerials.
Damage to or breakage of car seats (including burns to seats).
Traffic and parking fines
Personal Effects Cover is also NOT included & we strongly recommend clients to ensure that these are covered by their own travel insurance. The insurance becomes INVALID if anyone whose name is not recorded on the hire contract drives the vehicle or if it is loaded with more that the stated capacity. Insurance lapses if the car is taken “off road” or on roads unsuitable for the vehicle, the car is used to push or tow another vehicle, the car is damaged or lost due to illegal or negligent use, the car is used to carry any illegal substances, the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or the vehicle is driven once the rental period is over.
Insurance cover only applies for driving in Spain
Car may be taken into Gibraltar at any time during the rental at an extra charge of €30 Euros. Car may also be taken into Portugal with an additional charge of €9 Euros per day (min. €27 Euros max. €135 Euros). Entrance into Gibraltar or Portugal MUST be advised to Niza Cars & is payable locally. Reasonable care should be taken with the vehicle at all times & it must be locked, secure and in a safe place when not in use. Notwithstanding the terms printed on the Standard Hire Contract, the insurance terms and conditions (as shown above – which are much more advantageous to our clients) will apply to all bookings through Malaga Car Hire.
ACCIDENTS & MECHANICAL PROBLEMS:
Should you be involved in an accident, this must be reported to the local police and a signed Accident Report & full details of any third parties must be obtained and provided to Niza Cars within 24 hours, OTHERWISE NIZA CARS WILL CHARGE FOR THE COST OF ALL DAMAGES & MANAGEMENT FEES (& INSURANCE COMPENSATION WILL BE INVALIDATED). A €30 Euro management fee regarding accident reports is payable. Should you experience mechanical problems with your hire vehicle, this should be reported as soon as possible (& in any event within 24 hours) to the supplier whose telephone number will be on your contract.
ROAD ASSISTANCE:
If additional insurance is taken out then Road Assistance is included in the cover. If not, then clients have the option of taking out separate cover at a cost of €9 Euros per day (Minimum charge of €27 Euros, Maximum charge of €135 Euros).
TRAFFIC & PARKING FINES & TOWING CHARGES:
Clients will be responsible for payment of any traffic, parking or towing charges & a €30 Euro 'Fine Management Fee' will also be applied. NB. The Fine Management Fee is covered if Optional Additional Insurance cover is taken.
One additional driver included in price. Charge for 3rd (or more) named drivers is €6 Euros per day per driver (min €18 Euros, max. €90 Euros) payable locally. All drivers must be over 21 years of age & have held a full driving licence for at least one year. WEF 15/03/23, there is an upper age limit of 79. There is a young driver surcharge of €6 Euros per day, (min €18 Euros, max. €90 Euros) for 21- 24 year old drivers payable locally. For drivers who have held a driving licence for between 1 & 4 years, there is a surcharge of €5 Euros per day (min €15 Euros Max. €60 Euros) payable locally. All those intending to drive MUST produce their full driving licences & have their names recorded on the hire contract. Failure to ensure this could lead to problems in the event of an insurance claim.
At the time of writing, an International Driving Permit is not required for UK & European Community hirers but we suggest you keep abreast of any changes by checking online before you travel. An International Licence is needed for all other countries. We advise that you carry your Driving Licence & a copy of your Passport at all times.
(For UK clients) Niza Cars only require the pink plastic “credit card” part of your driving licence (or they will still accept the old-style paper licence).
Child seats & booster seats are a legal requirement in Spain and are available for an additional charge of €4 Euros per day (min €12 Euros, max. €48 Euros), payable locally. Two types of child seat are available for babies 0-5kgs (Maxi Cosi) & for infants 5-18kgs. It is important that type is specified at time of booking. Booster seats must be used for children from 4-12 years (unless they are over 36kgs in weight). For security reasons, child seats & booster seats must be fitted by the parent or guardian.
A €30 Euros charge will be made if any car documents are lost.
Liability: Malaga Car Hire acts solely as a car hire broker. Clients should note that the vehicle hire contract is between the hirer & NIZA CARS and NOT with Malaga Car Hire. Hire is subject to the conditions in NIZA CARS’ contract & governed by Spanish Law. CLIENTS ARE ADVISED TO READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING IT. Malaga Car Hire accepts no liability whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or death whether arising from negligence, breach of contract or any other cause. In addition to the insurance cover provided by Niza Cars on its vehicles, hirers should ensure they have full personal travel insurance covering accident & injury & loss of personal effects carried in their hire vehicle.
If cars is returned in an exceptionally dirty condition (inside or out), then a special cleaning fee of €90 Euros may be applicable.
Unlike most car hire companies who insist on cars being returned no later than the time of collection on the day of arrival, Niza allow Malaga Car Hire clients 4 hours grace. However, if you return your car more than 4 hours after the time of collection, you will required to pay an additional day's rental (this will be based on our quoted rates, if advised to us at the time of booking) plus a €30 Euro late return fee, payable locally.
Niza Cars’ depot (in common with most car hire companies in Malaga) does not open until 07:00 hours. However, it is quite normal for clients to return their cars earlier than this and full return of car arrangements should be explained to you when you collect your car. What Niza normally suggest is that you drive to the airport, drop off the passengers and luggage and then park the car outside Niza Cars depot (there is a special box where keys can be dropped off) and the driver walks back to meet up with the other passengers. We are advised it is only a short walk.

Please note that although the online quotation system will provide a price for a hire of longer than 30 days, this is the maximum allowed period of hire. Clients can hire for a longer period but would need to make two (or more) separate hires of up to 30 days (max) each and would also need to return to Niza Cars’ Malaga Airport Depot during their stay to sign a new contract and swap the car over per hire. Each hire would have to be treated independently.
